Food review

The end is near

best spag bol melbourne

With only a few weeks left the anticipation is building as to who will take the title for the best bolognese in Melbourne. You may be wondering how I’m going to  decide on a winner considering it’s been a year since I’ve eaten some of the spag bols up for the title. Rest assured I have thought this through. I have a plan.

By September 9 I will have completed the task of tasting 52+ of Melbourne’s restaurant standard bolognese dishes, and it will be then that the top three will be decided, based on my food notes and scores.

There are some clear standouts, but I need to re-try the exceptional ones to make sure I make the right decision. So I’ve recruited family and friends to drive around Melbourne one evening to pick up my favourites and I’ll conduct the final blind taste test. The winner will be revealed at a finale party I’m holding on the September 13 and I’ll blog live from the party to reveal the winner!

The finale party is shaping up to be quite an event with some fabulous sponsors already onboard – Jack Rabbit VineyardComplete Function HireMeko Creations, By Dionne Design and the talented Dani from Spit and Giggle photography have all jumped on the Spaghetti Blogenese train! I don’t want to reveal too much, but there will be some great surprises throughout the evening. I’ll be sure to post plenty of photos and blog all about it!

It’s been a whirlwind experience trying the best bolognese Melbourne has to offer, and it’s going to be sad to say goodbye to this blog. I thank you all for joining me on this pasta frenzy journey. The good news is there is more in store for this blogger! A new blog is in the pipeline and will be revealed at the finale party. Can you guess what the next food theme will be?

If you want to come along to the finale party, get in touch with me by leaving a comment below or emailing spaghettiblogenese@gmail.com. There are a few spaces available for the ultimate Spaghetti Blogenese fans. First in, best dressed!
